Surgical Scheduling Supervisor
About The Position
Our Surgical Scheduling Supervisor provides leadership and oversight to a team of four surgical coordinators while maintaining direct responsibility for complex orthopaedic surgical cases. This position ensures efficient departmental operations, staff development, and quality assurance across all practice locations. The Supervisor serves as the primary liaison between physicians, surgical facilities, insurance providers, and patients, ensuring optimal coordination of surgical services and maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
Requirements
- Minimum 4-5 years of surgical scheduling experience in a medical office setting
- At least 2 years of experience in orthopaedic surgical coordination is mandatory
- Prior supervisory or lead coordination experience preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of insurance authorization processes, peer-to-peer reviews, and appeals procedures
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems and medical practice management software
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with physicians, staff, and patients
- High school diploma or GED required; college education or trade school preferred
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- ModMed EHR experience
- Familiarity with RWJBH and regional hospital systems
- Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA regulations
