About The Position

General Surgery is looking for a full-time Surgical Scheduler to join their team! The hours are: Monday-Friday 8:30am -5:00pm. Compensation: $18.50 - $24 per hour CCP salary ranges are designed to be competitive with room for professional and financial growth. Individual compensation is based on several factors unique to each candidate, such as work experience, qualifications, and skills. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent with additional education desirable.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to use interpersonal skills to establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients, family members, physicians, providers, managers, co-workers and external customers.
  • Maintain strictest confidentiality and discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • Surgical scheduling experience highly desired.
  • Previous clerical experience in a medical practice preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and maintains surgical schedule for procedures and work with the providers to ensure proper time allocations and smooth transitions of work flow.
  • Answers telephone; schedule appointments, screens calls, takes messages and provides information in accordance with established policies.
  • Schedules patients for surgical procedures and obtains all necessary information upon arrival of patient.
  • Responsible for accurately completing Physician Referrals.
  • Cross-trained in check in and check out duties.
  • Complete prior authorizations and verify patient insurance.
