About The Position

ChristianaCare is looking to hire a full time Surgical Scheduler II for our Surgical Services located in at Wilmington Hospital in the Gateway building. As a surgical scheduler you would schedule patients for surgery, tests, referrals, medical and cardiac clearance, pre-op tests and review meds and health history as needed. This role is split between heavy phone calls and also patient facing in the office to schedule surgeries. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30p

Requirements

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three years related medical office experience with knowledge of computer scheduling for multiple providers.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for scheduling all surgical and imaging procedures for Surgical Services and obtaining necessary insurance referrals and authorizations.
• Provides non-clinical preoperative instructions, places surgical reminder calls, and maintains tracking systems to ensure completion of preoperative clearances and testing.
• Interacts daily with physicians, physician offices, Christiana Care departments, patients, and families while adhering to all organizational and departmental policies, including safety, infection control, and compliance standards.
• Performs clerical duties as needed and reports any unsafe conditions promptly to maintain a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
