About The Position

Full -time Surgical Physician Assistant - Putnam Hospital Center The Surgical PA Service at Putnam Center is seeking to add a board-certified full-time Physician Assistant to join its team.â¯ We are a hospital-based group that offers a supportive and team-based environment with exposure to multiple surgical subspecialties.â¯ Responsibilities currently include OR coverage with expected growth of, floor rounds, post-op management and discharge of patients.â¯ This position is a great opportunity for growth with a high volume of DaVinci Robotic Surgery cases. OR First Assisting- PHC surgical PA coverage is primarily OR first assisting. Specialties include but are not limited to general surgery, urology, breast, plastics and orthopedics. Surgical PA's are available during the day for OR coverage with on-call night coverage and one on-call weekend per month currently for OR emergencies Expectation of continued growth of the service to include floor rounding, consults and admissions There is cross- coverage between PHC Surgical PA Services and Vassar Brothers Surgical PA Services in a limited capacity This position is for three 12-hour shifts per week with one required weekend shift per month.â¯ There is an extensive onboarding and training period as well as a supportive environment for collaboration and learning. Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
NCCPA certified
Strong surgical and patient management experience

Nice To Haves

Candidates with at least one to three years of surgical experience and/or surgical residency trained candidates preferred, but new graduates will be considered as will new nurse practitioners with RNF certification and surgical experience.
