The role We are seeking a Surgical Nurse to join our Malvern team on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term maternity leave cover contract. In this role, you will work closely with our specialist surgeons, anaesthetists, criticalists and nursing teams to deliver exceptional patient care. You will be involved in surgical preparation, intra-operative support, post-operative care, and anaesthetic monitoring, while maintaining our high clinical and safety standards. You will work across a rotating roster, including weekend and on-call rotations . Strong communication, organisation and teamwork are essential, as is the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, specialist referral environment. This role includes mentorship and training, making it a great opportunity for nurses looking to further develop their surgical and anaesthesia skills within a supportive, specialist-led setting.

Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years clinical experience
  • Sound knowledge of veterinary nursing procedures
  • Confidence assisting with surgical procedures and patient care
  • Experience in anaesthetic monitoring
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • A professional, positive and team-focused approach

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a surgical and/or referral hospital environment preferred but not essential
