About The Position

The Surgical Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant provides patient services under the supervision of a licensed physician, according to Nurse Practitioner /Physician Assistant Protocol, and within the scope of the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant License in the State of Wisconsin. The Surgical Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant ensures continuity between clinical practice and standards of care as well as promotes and aids in patient preparation for discharge. This individual works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other health care disciplines utilizing a team approach to healthcare. In this role, you will assist with a busy Urology practice alongside two physicians and a Physician Assistant. This position will see patients in clinic as well as assist in the OR. Call will be a part of this role at a rotation of 1:7 and will include all surgery specialties.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant.
  • Current State of Wisconsin Nurse License or Nurse Compact License, and Nurse Practitioner Licensure.
  • Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • One to two years’ nursing experience in specialty.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
