About The Position

The Surgical Liaison is an integral part of the growing Beth Israel Lahey Health team, dedicated to making a difference in people's lives. This role is assigned to the Surgical waiting area, where the primary responsibility is to facilitate communication among patients, families/friends, physicians, and perioperative staff. The liaison communicates non-clinical information regarding patient status and progress in Holding, OR, Pacu, and SDC throughout the perioperative course. Key functions include facilitating the availability of patient families for confidential physician discussions, assisting with unobtrusive and approved visitation to various perioperative areas, and ensuring high levels of patient and family satisfaction with perioperative services. The role also involves assuring Patient Advocate involvement in service recovery when needed and directing patients and families within the waiting areas for Surgery, PAT, and Anesthesia consultations. Responsibilities

  • Facilitate communication among patients, families/friends, physicians and perioperative staff in the Surgical waiting area.

  • Direct patients and families within the waiting areas for Surgery, PAT and Anesthesia consultations.
