Requirements

  • Maryland X-Ray Certification (Required)
  • BLS Certification (Required)
  • Safety Adherent: Follow strict safety guidelines and procedures according to OSHA and office standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the surgeon during oral and maxillofacial surgeries, including implant placement and extractions.
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and surgical rooms in accordance with infection control standards.
  • Monitor and record patient vitals during procedures; maintain competency in anesthesia monitoring.
  • Ensure all treatment plans and consent forms are accurately completed and organized.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and explain pre- and post-operative instructions clearly and compassionately.
  • Support patient recovery and provide thorough post-op care guidance.
  • Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and office safety protocols, including radiation protection standards.
  • Capture high-quality radiographs with proper exposure and anatomical accuracy.
  • Maintain a sterile and organized surgical environment at all times.
  • Maintain accurate electronic patient records and documentation.
  • Inspect, clean, and sterilize equipment and instruments to ensure readiness for each procedure.
  • Work closely with surgeons and team members to ensure efficient surgical flow.
  • Contribute to a positive, respectful team environment.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in every interaction.
