Functions as a member of the surgical team under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. Additional functions include assisting with direct patient care, applying asepsis and sterilization principles and techniques.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-2 years of experience in a health care environment
Responsibilities
- Surgical Associates are responsible for assisting the surgical teams with direct/indirect patient care
- Cleaning the OR and equipment according to guidelines
- Restocking and organizing the OR's
- Handling of sterile/non sterile surgical and anesthesia equipment
