About The Position

Southwest Florida Oral Surgery - Fort Myers is seeking a talented surgical assistant to join their busy specialty practice in Fort Myers, FL. This role involves travel to their Cape Coral and Naples locations, offering an opportunity to expand a professional network. The mission is to improve patients' lives by providing a world-class specialty experience. The Surgical Assistant will ensure excellent patient service, assist the Dentist with administrative and basic dental tasks, and focus on addressing patients' needs, concerns, and questions, ensuring they remain relaxed and comfortable throughout their visit.

Requirements

At least 1-2 years of experience as surgical assistant
Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
Understanding of health & safety regulations
Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks
Good computer skills
Excellent communication and people skills
A strong attention to detail
Well-organized and reliable
A high school diploma
A certificate from an accredited surgical assistant program (if required by law)
An active state radiology license (if required by law)

Nice To Haves

OMFS experience preferred
Specialty experience preferred

Responsibilities

Prepare the surgical area, instruments, and equipment before each procedure.
Assist the surgeon during procedures by anticipating the surgeon's needs and assisting as required.
Keep surgical areas and instruments clean and sterilized.
Monitor and record patient vitals and ensure patient comfort and safety.
Prepare and provide post-operative instructions and materials to patients.
Help maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the surgeon or office manager.
Facilitate/coordinate other office responsibilities as needed.
