About The Position

Our office, Southwest Florida Oral Surgery - Fort Myers in Fort Myers, FL is seeking a talented surgical assistant to join our busy specialty practice. This role also brings an exciting change of scenery — you’ll get to travel to our beautiful Cape Coral and Naples locations while expanding your professional network! We are looking for a talented and skilled Surgical Assistant to help us accomplish our mission to improve the lives of our patients by providing a world-class specialty experience for every patient. This role focuses on ensuring excellent patient service, assisting the Dentist with administrative and basic dental tasks, and ensuring patients' needs, concerns, and questions are answered. The Surgical Assistant will help keep patients relaxed and comfortable during their visit, serving as their primary resource.

Requirements

At least 1-2 years of experience as surgical assistant
Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
Understanding of health & safety regulations
Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks
Good computer skills
Excellent communication and people skills
A strong attention to detail
Well-organized and reliable
A high school diploma
A certificate from an accredited surgical assistant program (if required by law)
An active state radiology license (if required by law)

Nice To Haves

OMFS experience preferred
Specialty experience preferred

Responsibilities

Prepare the surgical area, instruments, and equipment before each procedure.
Assist the surgeon during procedures by anticipating the surgeon's needs and assisting as required.
Keep surgical areas and instruments clean and sterilized.
Monitor and record patient vitals and ensure patient comfort and safety.
Prepare and provide post-operative instructions and materials to patients.
Help maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the surgeon or office manager.
Help to facilitate/coordinate other office responsibilities as needed.
