About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Assistant to support surgeons during operative procedures, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. This role requires strong technical expertise, particularly in robotic and orthopedic surgeries, along with the ability to assist in complex surgical cases.

Requirements

Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Assisting or Surgical Technology program OR Foreign Medical Graduate with 3+ years of Surgical Assistant experience in the U.S.
Minimum 2+ years of Surgical Assistant experience
Strong experience in robotic and orthopedic surgeries (required)
Basic Life Support (BLS – AHA) certification
Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology
Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Ability to stand for extended periods
Strong clinical judgment and technical skills
Ability to work effectively in high-pressure surgical environments
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Nice To Haves

NSAA or CFA certification (AST)
RNFA (NASC certification)
4+ years of general surgical experience with specialty exposure

Responsibilities

Assist surgeons during operative procedures under direct supervision
Position patients to ensure optimal surgical exposure
Provide visualization of the operative site using retractors, suction, and tissue manipulation
Assist with hemostasis, suturing, and wound closure techniques
Handle sutures and perform subcutaneous and skin closures
Apply wound dressings and assist with drainage systems
Assist with harvesting veins, arteries, tendons, bone, and tissue as required
Maintain sterile technique and ensure patient safety
Stay updated on surgical technologies and best practices
Collaborate effectively with the surgical team to ensure smooth workflow
