About The Position

Contributes to the team by assisting the physician with the performance of surgical procedures and instruments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess one of the following: Certification from an accredited school for Operating Room Technician or within 90 days of successful program completion; or graduate from an accredited practical nursing school, or extensive preparation through on-the-job training.
• Minimum of two (2) years training in surgical technology from a comparable medical institution. LPNs must have one (1) years’ experience as a scrub technician. Or, a graduate of an accredited program in Surgical Technology or within 90 days of successful program completion may substitute for experience.
• Must have current licensure as indicated by profession (LPN must be licensed by State Board of Nursing).
• Proficient Knowledge of duties and responsibilities of a surgical technician.
• The ability to communicate with co-workers in a professional manner.
• The ability to learn advanced procedures, instruments, and techniques.
