The Opportunity Lead the coordination and strategic planning for the procurement of surgical supplies, ensuring uninterrupted operations and compliance with organizational standards. Oversee the preparation and packing of critical supplies for the operating room, coordinating with recovery teams at designated locations. Manage the preparation of the operating room by overseeing the setup and functionality of all equipment, instruments, and sterile fields, confirming alignment with surgical protocols. Implement quality control procedures to verify the sterility, functionality, and inventory of surgical instruments and supplies before and after procedures. Maintain a well-prepared operating room by thoroughly cleaning, restocking, and verifying all instruments post-surgery. Assist in patient readiness processes, ensuring accurate identity verification, comprehensive documentation review, and proper informed consent, adhering to legal and ethical standards. Help position the patient for optimal surgical access. Accurately record and maintain detailed, real-time documentation of all activities and procedural steps throughout the organ recovery process, ensuring thorough and precise records to support compliance, transparency, and optimal outcomes Collaborate closely with the surgical team to review and synchronize on the procedural plan, promoting seamless coordination, shared understanding, and unwavering precision throughout the organ recovery process. Deliver proactive, hands-on support throughout the surgical procedure, ensuring: Retracting tissue to provide a clear view for the surgeon. Suctioning fluids and maintaining a clean surgical field. Controlling bleeding by clamping or cauterizing blood vessels as directed. Closing wounds by suturing or stapling under the surgeon’s guidance. Assist in the handling and preparation of the organ, ensuring proper preservation techniques. Monitor and ensure the functionality of surgical equipment. Assist in closing incisions and applying dressings. Take responsibility for the preservation and preparation of donor organs, ensuring the application of advanced preservation techniques that meet or exceed industry standards. Ensure operational readiness by conducting thorough pre- and post-procedure equipment assessments and troubleshooting to maintain uninterrupted functionality. Accurately document surgical procedures and report any unusual occurrences, contributing to comprehensive patient care records and quality assurance. Act as a senior liaison between multidisciplinary teams, ensuring streamlined communication and coordination among surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff. Stay at the forefront of transplantation advancements by actively pursuing knowledge on protocols, techniques, and emerging technologies. Provide reliable on-call availability for donor recoveries, ensuring timely and effective response to urgent needs. Ensure strict compliance with all state, federal, and local laws, as well as organizational policies and regulatory guidelines. Lead efforts in the recovery of donor organs, adhering to Vituity client standards and maintaining the highest quality of care. Actively participate in hospital and medical staff committees addressing donor-related issues, fostering collaboration with affiliated transplant centers. Collaborate with the Vituity Quality and Operations teams to develop and refine best practice protocols, enhancing operational excellence. Partner with Clinical Operations Manager to train, mentor, and evaluate new team members, ensuring they meet professional and organizational standards. Handle donor organs with exceptional care, rigorously following preservation protocols to maintain optimal quality. Strategize and coordinate with transplant teams to optimize operational efficiency and success rates, emphasizing leadership in managing critical timelines and resources. Standard heart or lung recovery: $600 - $800 per case. DCD non-arrest/aborted/terminated: $400 - $600 per case. NRP or advanced procedures: $1,200 - $2,000 per case. Machine perfusion cannulation: $250 per procedure Travel time beyond 2 hours roundtrip: $50/hour (as applicable). Charter air avoidance or urgent mobilization: $500 per occurrence. This is a 1099 contract position.
