About The Position

The Surgical Assistant II works as a 1st or 2nd assistant to the surgeon and under the direction/supervision of that surgeon and in accordance with hospital policy and appropriate laws and regulations. The Surgical Assistant works as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team, collaborating with nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care. Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, located in Virginia Beach, VA, is home to the region’s only Level III Trauma Center. Requirements

• Surgical Assistant Trade School Degree REQUIRED
• Virginia Surgical Assistant License REQUIRED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification REQUIRED
• 3 years SA experience required
