Duke Health Integrated Practice Duke Health Integrated Practice comprises more than 110 primary and specialty outpatient clinics, extending the reach of Duke Health's mission across the state of North Carolina. We are seeking a Surgery Scheduler to perform secretarial/scheduling duties in support of general medical office activities to relieve medical professional personnel of clerical and administrative details and to maintain an efficient and effective operation.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate's degree preferred.
- Two years of experience in a clinical setting or in a coding/billing setting.
- An associate degree or higher may substitute for the experience requirement.
- Medical terminology.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience on Epic preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish & English) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Screen surgery orders.
- Set up and maintain files, reports, correspondence and miscellaneous information in an organized fashion.
- Operate general office machines to include computer, copy machines, calculators and other equipment as needed in the realm of assigned duties.
- Answer phones and return calls as needed to patients needing to schedule surgery.
- Schedule surgical procedures according to instructions and procedures indicated on posting sheet from physician.
- Document all aspects of surgery in different modalities.
- Collect surgery deposits.
