As our surgical services nurse at MGMC you will prepare patients for surgical procedures and assist in the operating room to ensure they receive excellent nursing when they are at their most vulnerable. Every day you wi ll go over consent forms, answer questions about the procedure, do preoperative assessments, make sure the equipment is ready to go, and update family members on the surgery status during the operation. You will be expected to directly assist the surgeon during the actual surgery. To be successful in this role you must have the ability to maintain focus while multitasking, remain calm under pressure, and exercise good judgment in emergency situations. Dignity Health now offers an Education Benefit program for benefit-eligible employees after 180 days. This program provides debt relief and student loan assistance to help you achieve your goals. Full-time employees can receive up to $18,000 over five years, while part-time employees can receive up to $9,000 .

  • Assist surgeon and surgical team in the OR
  • Care for patients before, during, and after procedures
  • Develop and implement nursing care plan for surgical patients
  • Ensure operating rooms are prepped with all necessary equipment and supplies
  • Demonstrate a high level of compassion for patients
  • Experience: One (1) year surgery experience
  • Education: ADN Diploma
  • Licensure: Current AZ RN license
  • Current American Heart Association BLS card
  • American Heart Association ACLS certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire
  • BSN or Foreign Equivalent
