Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Candidate is required to have six months of experience in surgery scheduling and superior computer experience.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of medical terminology and surgery procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule all surgeries for each physician ad document surgeries on surgery calendar
• Handle/Coordinate all paperwork, surgery consent forms, lab work, consults, etc.
• Handle patient financial responsibilities for the surgery
• Schedule all inductions and C-sections with labor and delivery
• Prepare all surgery documentation
• Contact the hospital surgery department to schedule, coordinate, and verify surgery times
• Handle pre-certification of benefits with each insurance company on a per-patient-basis
• Reschedule patient appointments to accommodate surgery schedules
• Counsel patients regarding the surgery process, answer any questions, and confirm that they understand
• Schedule patient referrals
