About The Position

The Surgery Attendant II supports the overall operation of the surgery department, which includes preparing procedure rooms, transporting patients, and ensuring the cleanliness of facilities. This role is responsible for managing the inventory process, ensuring that facilities are well-stocked, and ordering additional supplies as needed. The attendant also maintains and ensures the daily availability of equipment used in Operating Room procedures. Adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures is crucial to ensure patient privacy and safety, thereby contributing to optimal patient care. The position may also involve performing specific procedures and/or orienting other staff members to the department.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification
  • DL-Valid Drivers License (for Department, Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center)
  • Auto Insurance (for Department, Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center)
  • 1 year recent relevant experience
  • General knowledge of surgical tools, procedures, views, and equipment.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).

  • Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.

Responsibilities

  • May also be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or orient other staff to the department.
