Location & Travel Expectations: This role is headquartered in Scottsdale, AZ, with a minimum of 2–3 days per week onsite at our Corporate Office. Due to the scope of the role, candidates must be comfortable with 50–75% nationwide travel, depending on business needs. The key focus of the Surgeon Administration Manager role is (i) to ensure the delivery of surgical procedures that are aligned with the company’s business objectives and (ii) to ensure close partnership with all stakeholders to develop plans and new initiatives to drive continued improvement of the surgical delivery. This includes managing contracts, onboarding, disengagement, addressing any concerns that may arise, and ensuring that the organization is meeting the needs of its surgeons and field operations. The Surgeon Administration Manager manages Surgeon relationships, highlights surgeon successes, and leads strategic initiatives to support clinical excellence in the Medical Administration Department. The ideal candidate is positive, team-oriented, a natural problem solver, action-oriented, and able to maintain a flexible mindset.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business administration or healthcare-related specialty.
  • Experience overseeing a regional territory.
  • Experience working in both sales and operations, medical preferred.
  • Experience with direct interaction with physicians is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and project management skills.
  • Ability to make decisions in a rapidly growing, professional, service-oriented environment.
  • Intellectual acuity and discretion with sensitive information.
  • Available to travel up to 50% as needed.
  • Must be highly proficient in basic computer skills and the utilization of MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to consistently implement and manage project, policy, and initiative execution across a multi-unit network.
  • Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills; able to adjust approach to effectively work with diverse communication styles and preferences across extended teams.
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize competing tasks, while also being flexible to change priorities if a situation requires.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement region-specific plans to deliver on business objectives.
  • Monitors regional performance and highlights areas that need intervention.
  • Works with stakeholders to align resources to help drive center results.
  • Partner closely with the Medical Directors and HR team to identify performance issues and develop plans to address and improve surgeon performance.
  • Understands key business objectives, strategic initiatives, practices, and revenue goals to support achievement.
  • Leads and supports communication and outreach between the Practice and its surgeons.
  • Travels to their assigned region to provide in-person support, build relationships with surgeons and center leadership, and partner with the area leader to resolve known issues.
  • Travels to centers to facilitate the administrative component of Clinical onboarding (CLOB). This will include the orientation of new surgeons to Sono Bello practice and supporting the center team. Including but not limited to three trips a month.
  • Partners with Medical Leadership Team (MLT) to support, retain, and mentor the region’s surgeons, up to and including written and verbal communication and documentation.
  • Works in partnership with the Medical Director to coordinate and assist in all the region’s surgeon-related communications, including KPIs, behavioral concerns, mentoring needs, risk management, performance management, disengagement, etc.
  • Leads monthly calls with all assigned Area Leaders to review the center health and surgeons for each center in their region.
  • Responsible for presenting quarterly to the executive team on the overall success of the region and surgeons.
  • Maintain ongoing communication, 1:1s, and relationships with all key partners (Area Leaders, Practice Managers, Surgeons, Field Services, etc.)
  • Partners with the Surgeon Recruiting team in the handoff of new hires to manage and facilitate a thoughtful onboarding experience.
  • Works in partnership with HR to develop team member retention strategies and implement them.
  • Partners with credentialing to ensure all surgeons continue to meet the requirements of their job.
