Diploma or an equivalent Proficient in the English language, verbally and written At least one (1) year experience in mechanical maintenance, any plating experience will be considered first Flexibility to work any shift including evenings and weekends as necessary to meet deadlines Must be able to successfully pass a FIT respirator test This position is safety sensitive and is subject to DOT drug and alcohol regulations Role and Responsibilities: Properly clean parts using wire brushes, chemical sprays, cloth wipes, water, glass bead, sandblast, degrease and wet hone Inspect plated parts for defects and report questionable conditions to the Plating Manager Set up and maintain racks, machines and tanks for operation Adjust controls, temperatures and speed of equipment Maintain work records including reading and interpreting technical data, signing off on work performed, and managing time in jobs. Mix and test solutions Measure, mark and mask areas of parts to be excluded from plating Process various parts through their wet chemical process using proper chemical disciplines Immerse metal parts into chemical solutions using a hoist Measure and maintain the proper thickness of coating using calibrated tools Hang parts to immerse and dry Place plated parts into the industrial oven to dry for a specified time Follow prescribed safety regulations and use PPE Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and organized manner Coordinate with Management Skills and Abilities: Basic blueprint reading Basic math skills equivalent to 8th grade arithmetic Performance management Multi-task Attention to detail Manual dexterity Maneuver arms and legs and whole body to handle objects Straight pull and push, pull hand over hand Reach above shoulders Repeat bending and/or climb Able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds Must be able to stand for at least 10 hours a day Vision abilities required: Near, distant, color, peripheral, depth perception Position PPE Requirements: Compliance with safety and health protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment as required.
