About The Position

The Specialty Pharmacy Technician Supervisor plays a key leadership role in managing pharmacy technicians and leads to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality medication distribution services. This position focuses on team development, operational excellence, and compliance with contemporary pharmacy practice standards.

Requirements

6 years of experience as a pharmacy technician OR
4 years of experience as a pharmacy technician and an Associate of Science degree OR
2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician and a Bachelor of Science degree
Current registration with the Florida State Board of Pharmacy (renewed every two years)
Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or equivalent national certification)

Responsibilities

Interview, hire, promote, and manage performance for pharmacy technicians and leads.
Develop coaching plans and administer disciplinary actions when necessary.
Conduct competency assessments, orientation, and ongoing training for staff.
Hold regular team meetings to maintain clear communication and alignment.
Manage scheduling to ensure optimal staffing for patient care needs.
Coordinate daily activities to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
Drive process improvement and quality management initiatives.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and Orlando Health policies.
Partner with pharmacists, clinical teams, nursing, and ancillary departments to support patient care.
Investigate and resolve incident reports related to the workgroup.
Maintain professionalism and demonstrate strong leadership in all interactions.
