Requirements

• MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:Associate’s degree in biomedical engineering, electronics or a related field.
• In lieu of degree, a total of four (4) years of experience will be accepted in addition to the experience requirement.
• MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Five (5) years of experience required within the field as a Biomedical Engineering Technician and a minimum of three (3) years in a hospital setting.
• In lieu of degree, a total of nine (9) years of experience is required.
• MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:None.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize accordingly.

Nice To Haves

• Supervisory experience recommended.

Responsibilities

• Supervises all biomedical technicians, functions and activities within the assigned Piedmont Healthcare facility or facilities, including personnel management, regulatory compliance, customer service, and budget control.
• Ensures clinical equipment is repaired and maintained in the most cost effective manner and that it is accurate for clinical diagnosis.
• Responsible for EOC committee reports, surveys and inspections from JCAHO and other regulatory agencies.
• Assures strong customer service levels across department lines with good communication and relationships.
