About The Position

Keystone Human Services is seeking a casual/per diem Supported Employment Coordinator to join their team in supporting adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disability. As a Supported Employment Coordinator, the individual will lead and coordinate employment services, develop tailored employment support, and foster meaningful partnerships between job seekers and employers. Keystone Human Services works to create an environment where all people, regardless of ability, can grow, make choices and be valued and contributing members of the community. They provide community-based services for children, adolescents, adults, and families in the areas of intellectual disabilities, autism, and mental health, as well as technical assistance to governments and other organizations to develop frameworks of support for people with disabilities. They also support educational efforts to promote community understanding and awareness of the value and importance of inclusion for all people in all aspects of society, offering services and supports in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware, and New Jersey in the United States, as well as parts of Eastern Europe and India.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of full-time work experience supporting adults in the human services field
  • Ability to obtain Associate of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) certification within six months of employment
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent presentation, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Basic computer skills, ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and learn web-based systems
  • Valid driver’s license and daily access to privately maintained and insured vehicle
  • Successful completion of the pre-employment process, including motor vehicle record and criminal background checks

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with individuals to complete the “Discovery Process,” identifying vocational themes and ideal employment conditions
  • Engage in person-centered job development using networks, informational interviews, work experiences, and marketing strategies
  • Target individualized job goals and negotiate employment opportunities with potential employers
  • Support job seekers in developing employment skills including resume writing, application completion, and interview preparation
  • Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and advocacy to ensure successful job placement and retention
  • Maintain a centralized database of employer contacts and potential job opportunities
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams to identify employment outcomes and develop actionable plans
  • Educate employers on the benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities and address any concerns
  • Conduct job and task analyses to ensure optimal job matches and successful performance
  • Represent job seekers during negotiations and resolve employment-related challenges
  • Advise individuals on the impact of employment on benefits
  • Explore and facilitate self-employment, resource ownership, and business ownership options
  • Assist individuals in developing transportation solutions and skills for job access
