Support Worker - Albany EOI
About The Position
Hey you! genU is looking for Support workers who can team up with our customers to help them unleash their full potential. You will be making a real impact by helping people with disabilities through accommodation and community engagement. We are currently recruiting for several permanent positions, with shifts covering between 7am & 7pm Monday to Sunday and potential over-night shifts. We are looking for individuals with experience with challenging behaviors, dementia and aged customers. We also have a cohort of younger customers looking to engage with Support Workers who have the same interests such as gaming, sport and a love for the outdoors.
Requirements
- Well developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
- Ability to follow Person Centred plans and assist people to achieve their goals and outcomes
- An understanding and enthusiasm for working alongside people with disabilities
- Ability to manage complex or difficult situations as they arise with patience and maturity
- A valid drivers licence and willingness to use your private vehicle (aligned with genU motor vehicle allowance rebate).
- All applications must have the right to work in Australia and be willing to get or already have: Valid Drivers Licence, NDIS Worker Screening Check, National Police Clearance (at our cost)
Nice To Haves
- Certificate III in disability or individual support or higher
Responsibilities
- Support person-centred plans that identify a customer’s life goals and working to achieve them
- Support customers in daily living skills such as meal preparation, housekeeping, showering and toileting and medication administration
- Ensure positive behaviour support plans are followed
- Administration duties and mandatory reporting
