Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities . We work hard to enriching the lives of people with many different care needs. It’s exciting and rewarding work, and we’re full of pride and passion for what we do. Since the early days, we’ve grown to provide many innovative and bespoke care services to thousands of people across England and Scotland. We want to provide support based on the principles of choice, dignity and respect. This resonates in our vision of ‘Your Life, Your Choice’ and our strategy ‘Best Lives Possible’. We have strong values and we’re proud to pioneer new ways of delivering social care to stand out in our sector. In the past two years, we have won or made the shortlist for over 100 national and regional awards! We are also focused on our people. Our Support Workers are dedicated and passionate about going ‘the extra mile’ for the people we support and in return, we go the extra mile for them by investing in pay, recognition, wellbeing and continued professional and personal development. We will provide you with all the training, support and personal protective equipment you need in your role and will help you develop, should you decide you want to develop your career with us. Here at Stone Street, there are four us, all unique and different in our own ways. Our ages range from 57 years old to 81 years old. We all have our own individual flats, and the staff team work on a one to one basis with us all. Our shift patterns vary, 8.30am-4pm, 9am-2pm, 9.30am-7.30pm and a 9am till 11pm sleepover shift then 7am till finishing at 9am. So you must be fine with doing a sleepover shift. Three of us are mobile and one has a wheelchair, though one of us walks with the use of a rollator. Two of us have cars, which makes it ideal for days out. Each one of us has our own challenges we face daily, hearing problems, autism, cerebral palsy, schizo-affective and autism. The staff team are trained with all of the challenges we face, they look at the best way possible to improve our lives and give the best possible support needed. One of the ladies here has a cat. We are all different and enjoy doing our own thing. Some of us like to go shopping, looking around shops and going for a beverage and snacks when out and about. We all like to get together in the summer and have BBQ’s in our big back garden. We do like to do activities together too. We like to go to parties, we like the music and disco lights and even a bit of karaoke. Also when we go to parties we get to see friends from other services. We all like our staff to be respectful and supportive. We do not like staff who are overpowering loud and insensitive. We know it takes a special person to work in social care and we recognise that not everyone that would be perfect for the role, will have professional experience. This is why we're really passionate about recruiting to individuals’ values and we recruit people from all walks of life ; From people with vast experience in a support worker or care assistant role, from people with lived experiences who may have friends or relatives with disabilities or have looked after older relatives, to people with no experience at all. Naturally it is important too that you share our company values - We Include; We Deliver; We Aspire; We Respect; We Enable, which are at the heart of everything we do and ensure that we deliver high quality, consistent care and support.
