About The Position

Our client is seeking a Computer Services Support Technician to join its Technology Services team outside of Troy, NY. This is an entry-level IT role well suited for recent graduates or individuals beginning a career in information technology who are eager to learn, support end users, and gain hands-on experience in a professional environment. Position Overview: The Computer Services Support Technician provides day-to-day technical assistance for hardware, software, and peripheral equipment. This role focuses on supporting end users, setting up and maintaining workstations, and resolving common technical issues while escalating more complex problems to senior technical staff. It offers an excellent foundation for building technical skills and customer service experience in IT.

Requirements

  • Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution OR
  • High school diploma or equivalent with a recognized IT certification (such as CompTIA A+ or Network+) OR
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic technical support for computers, software applications, and peripheral devices
  • Set up, configure, and deploy workstations and related equipment
  • Install and update software and operating systems
  • Troubleshoot common user issues and resolve them in a timely manner
  • Work directly with end users to provide clear, professional technical assistance
  • Escalate advanced or unresolved issues to higher-level IT staff
  • Assist with maintaining reliable daily technology operations
  • Follow established procedures and documentation standards
  • Demonstrate a positive, service-oriented approach and willingness to learn
