Requirements

CDA or Associate's degree in any subject area (required); or high school diploma, provided candidate earns CDA within 2 years of initial hire date.
Meets all licensing requirements for early childhood staff
Reliable and professional with consistent attendance
Builds positive relationships and communicates effectively with children, parents, and team members
Maintains composure and professionalism when addressing stressful situations or unexpected challenges
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. to ensure child safety, facilitate programs, and respond to emergencies.
Infant and Young Toddler Teachers must be able to safely lift infants in and out of cribs and perform other caregiving duties
Remains alert and engaged while supervising children at all times
Meets all background check and fingerprinting requirements per licensing regulations
Completes required pre-service, onboarding, and annual training hours
Adheres to all health, safety, and sanitation standards
Maintains a positive, team-oriented attitude and commitment to The Gardner School’s mission and values

Nice To Haves

1+ year of experience working with children ages 6 weeks – 5 years (preferred)
Passion for early childhood education and a joyful, caring attitude

Responsibilities

Engage children in meaningful interactions that support development
Step into classrooms to support Assistant Teachers during breaks or absences
Help maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and routine
Communicate respectfully and professionally with teachers, leadership, and families
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
Model a supportive and flexible team-oriented attitude
Follow all policies, procedures, and licensing regulations
Assist in maintaining child-to-staff ratios and completing classroom tasks
