About The Position

Sponsors seeks to improve outcomes and opportunities for individuals with conviction histories and to assist individuals releasing from incarceration in their successful reintegration to our community. Sponsors is nationally recognized as a model utilizing best practice in reentry services. Support Staff provide an important role in the transitions program by modeling positive behaviors and training other team members. Support Staff also assists the supervisor in overseeing projects such as periodic deep cleanings of participant areas, assisting with clerical tasks, and providing input on ways to improve team efficiency. In the absence of administrative staff, Support Staff also processes EBT payments and assists participants with account concerns. This posting is for an overnight shift and may include weekends. This position is located at our Downtown Campus.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • May work nights/weekends and holidays depending on assigned shift
  • Knowledge of general safety procedures
  • Dependable and responsive to available on-call hours
  • High school equivalency
  • Minimum of 1 year as a Sponsors Support Staff (day shift) and be in good standing; -OR- 3 years’ experience providing direct support services in a social services agency.
  • Candidates without Sponsors experience may substitute 1 year of direct support experience with certifications or higher education in addiction counseling, human services, or mental health field.
  • Successful candidates for this position who are on parole or probation must have completed at least 1 year of supervision, have no violations of parole or probation in the past 9 months, and not be in a diversion program (e.g. SB416, Treatment Court, DUII Diversion, Restorative Justice).

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience in a social advocacy role
  • Candidates who are highly proficient in English and Spanish may be eligible for a 5% bilingual differential pay (certified by examination).

Responsibilities

  • Monitor common areas and individual housing units to ensure the safety, security and cleanliness of the facility
  • Provide support services to program participants as assigned
  • Ensure the safety and security of the Transitional Housing Program throughout the overnight shift
  • Intra-Agency collaboration and communication
  • Transitions Department and Team Support
