About The Position

Kern Regional Center is one of 21 private, non-profit regional centers contracted by the State of California through the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) to coordinate community-based services and support for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Kern Regional Center services over 10,000 individuals in Kern, Inyo and Mono Counties. Our counties cover approximately 22,000 square miles with a population of over 945,000 people. Kern Regional Center is looking for a dedicated Support Services Technician who will be responsible for general office support with a variety of clerical activities, maintains electronic client records and related tasks. They will prepare client charts for imaging and ensure documents are of imaging quality. They will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of filing into electronic records and ensure accurate placement of documents. They will be responsible to provide assistance to the staff as needed and to clear simple paper jams, restocking paper and toner. The Support Services Technician will be responsible for taking phone calls, responding to emails and other clerical tasks.

Requirements

  • Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook and Excel

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of experience and/or training in a high volume office environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possession of a valid California Driver’s License and State automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record substantiated by a DMV printout.
  • Full use of automobile or ability to provide for independent transportation
  • Must be able to drive to various sites as assigned.
