Requirements

  • High School Degree or equivalent required.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize daily tasks.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple requests and work in a stressful environment.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Orders and stocks non-chargeable supplies on unit.
  • Maintains inventory of in-unit equipment, cables, etc.
  • Maintains log of equipment service and location of equipment.
  • Ensures timely return for in-unit equipment from Bio-med or other units.
  • Follows up on equipment preventative maintenance and repair.
  • Assists VIP with equipment and interdepartmental transfers.
  • Assists in the retrieval and delivery of medications and pharmaceutical products that are dispensed from the Pharmacy to the appropriate patient care provider's.
  • Keeps unit (excluding patient rooms) neat and in order.
  • Stocks bedside cabinets, treatment rooms, mini-stations, isolations carts, and linen areas.
  • Maintains standard room set-up and proper functioning of items in room.
  • Cleans patient rooms as needed.
  • Reconciles patient information in Central Supply system (PYXIS).
  • Removes and/or replaces needle boxes in patient rooms.
  • Records all refrigerator temperatures and reports any malfunctions to Engineering.
  • Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.
