The position serves as a support liaison between internal users, vendors, and the Information Systems/Technology department and investigates and identifies the root cause of moderately complex user, application, and hardware issues. This position's goals are met through professional communication, confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA guidelines. The Support Service Specialist position is on-site at the Fort Smith, Arkansas, Shared Services Center facility.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or GED High School Degree or Equivalent required
  • 1-3 years of experience in the healthcare revenue cycle or business office required
  • Knowledge of Word Processing and Database software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and similar applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Degree in Business, Healthcare Management, or Finance preferred
  • 2-4 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle or business office preferred

Responsibilities

  • Completes accurate and timely reconciliation of various SSC and vendor processes through accounts receivable analysis.
  • Completes tasks related to Medhost support, such as: Net Down, Reclass, Log Reconciliation, etc.
  • Uses working knowledge of insurance payors, including: understanding of deductibles, coinsurance, contractuals and denials and correctness of adjustment transactions in both host systems.
  • Assists with tasks outside of normal scope by adapting and prioritizing workflow.
  • Remains compliant with SSC, CHS and compliance policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
