About The Position

As a Support Engineer at Qualcomm, you will significantly contribute to our product improvement and work with other Engineers to sustain aspects of our product development life cycle. Support Engineers will also play a critical role in resolving technical system issues that promote product reliability. You will have endless opportunities to learn and grow in the Engineering development space.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 1+ year of Support Engineering or related work experience.
  • OR
  • Associate's degree and 2+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.
  • OR
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.
  • Completed advanced degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one year (Master’s = one year) of work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience in systems test engineering, technical support engineering, program analyst/program coordination, or related roles.
  • Experience creating, scheduling, and maintaining project/program plans; familiarity with program management tools and practices.
  • Experience supporting test execution, lab operations, engineering support, and/or program coordination in a technical environment.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills; ability to identify issues, escalate appropriately, and drive to resolution.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data/metrics using advanced spreadsheet features (e.g., pivot tables, charts; macros a plus) and produce clear reports.
  • Experience with dashboards, results reporting, and maintaining databases or trackers (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI).
  • Ability to work independently, stay organized, and partner effectively across teams; curiosity and willingness to learn.
  • Basic understanding/experience with CI/CD system and and device farm management.
  • Experience in various Operating systems (Ubuntu, Redhat, CentOS etc)is a plus
  • Knowledge of SW Development & Test Life cycle is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with internal teams and (as needed) third parties to plan and execute validation/support activities; track requests through completion.
  • Prepare meeting agendas and materials (e.g., review boards), capture notes and decisions, and communicate actions, risks, and timeline changes.
  • Maintain project plans, schedules, and task assignments; monitor progress against milestones and escalate issues that may impact deadlines.
  • Perform functional, performance, and stress testing on physical silicon and virtual platforms under supervision
  • Execute manual and automated test cases, collect measurements, validate results, and publish clear reports/dashboards for stakeholders.
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret data and program metrics; resolve inconsistencies and synthesize trends, risks.
  • Maintain and improve tracking mechanisms, databases, and documentation to increase efficiency and ensure compliance with processes/guidelines.
  • Partner with engineering to triage failures, reproduce issues, and support root-cause investigations across hardware/software boundaries.
