About The Position

The Support Enforcement Specialist Senior serves as a program agent for assigned child support cases, engaging families for success so that they have the financial and family support they need to grow and thrive. Duties may include locating non-custodial parents; establishing paternity; determining and assessing child support obligations and health care coverage; and ensuring compliance of child and/or medical support orders through a number of administrative and judicial enforcement actions; provides testimony in court proceedings when required. Manages a substantial caseload in volume and complexity, drawing on a range of case management processes to influence noncustodial and custodial parents and to support their children and will provide direct support to the Division of Child Support Enforcement.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to:
  • interpret and apply child support enforcement laws, regulations, policies and/or procedures to ensure compliance and produce outcomes and results
  • give guidance to others that promotes teamwork, improving member contributions and team results.
  • Interact with a diverse public in a service setting to tactfully solve problems, sometimes in difficult situations where conflict is encountered
  • Work independently: plan, organize, and handle multiple priorities in a case management/caseload setting
  • Work in a considerate and respectful way as a team member to set, clarify and achieve individual and team goals
  • Skill in:
  • Information collection through interviewing and obtaining/reviewing records, and documents and the ability to analyze and determine the appropriate action in order to achieve results.
  • Reviewing, creating and analyzing reports to determine the appropriate actions needed to achieve results.
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Skill in the use of a personal computer using remote access technology, email, automated information systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Work experience in case management, gathering and organizing client documentation to process financial transactions and/or account reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of and/or working experience in legal processes, to include preparing legal documents and providing court testimony.
  • Work experience in child support enforcement.
  • Work experience in the collection of past due accounts.
