THIS IS A ROTATING SHIFT RESPONSIBILITIES The Inspector Operator is responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy, and readiness of greige fabric prior to downstream manufacturing and customer delivery. The associate also assists with materials handling, housekeeping, and inspection-area support to maintain efficient workflow and compliance with Milliken standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be able to work a flexible shift
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Basic recordkeeping and documentation skills
  • Ability to cover other shifts as needed
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify fabric defects

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing or textile experience preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with greige fabric, quality inspection processes, or production environments

Responsibilities

  • Inspect greige fabric to identify defects, inconsistencies, or off-quality conditions according to established quality specifications.
  • Perform re-inspection of greige fabric as required to confirm product quality and grading accuracy.
  • Re-roll greige fabric to ensure proper handling, storage, and workflow efficiency.
  • Verify and record greige fabric yardage accurately.
  • Complete all inspection reporting paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure production and inspection records are maintained according to Milliken quality and documentation standards.
  • Maintain inspection printers and ensure continuous availability for reporting needs
  • Communicate promptly with the weave room regarding any potential off-quality fabric that may still be running.
  • Notify Production Control Administration when shell rolls require replenishment to prevent production delays.
  • Collaborate effectively with packers and other team members to support smooth material flow and resolve issues as they arise
  • Pack fabric rolls when needed to assist packers and help clear conveyor belts.
  • Empty inspection waste buggies and ensure proper disposal of waste materials.
  • Perform additional inspection area support duties as required to meet operational needs
  • Support warehouse as needed by greeting drivers when warehouse associate is unavailable
