About The Position

Performs the duties of a Munitions Section Supply Technician under the general supervision of the Operations Supervisor on behalf of the Munitions Division Manager. This position executes technical and administrative munitions supply management functions within the Standard Army Ammunition Supply System (SAAS) in direct support of Army ammunition operations. The role requires the application of regulatory-driven administrative processes, accountability controls, and data integrity standards unique to Army munitions operations, rather than general warehouse material handling. All work is performed in accordance with DoD, Army, and applicable Service-level regulations governing ammunition accountability, storage, movement, and reporting. May be assigned to support contract support requirements in job-related areas such as environmental, safety, and security. In addition to the broad scope of complexity, which is aligned to quality control, data line content, and posting of all transactional data being conducted on a normal day. Must be able to utilize multifaceted information systems access (MHP, MTMS, TAMIS, SAAS, CORPS, FACTS, VFS, etc.) in compliance to various defined procedures. Technical knowledge includes but is not limited to quality control procedures, DOD/Army/Navy/Air Force regulations/process requirements, standard operation procedures, time management, logistics, safety, and physical security.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience performing ammunition supply or munitions administrative functions, including:
  • Processing ammunition transactions in SAAS or equivalent ammunition accountability systems
  • Managing lot-controlled, condition-coded, and serial-tracked assets
  • Reconciling inventory discrepancies in a regulated ammunition environment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable Government Personnel Reliability Program (PRP) background screening to acquire a DA Form 7708
  • Possession of a valid state driver’s license
  • Ability to operate powered and material handling equipment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong organizational and multitasking skills (Level I/basic proficiency)
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and perform physical tasks including pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, climbing, and reaching
  • Ability to handle hazardous materials and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Required to obtain applicable ammunition certifications, including but not limited to: AMMO-45, AMMO-64, AMMO-67, AMMO-68, and AMMO-112
  • Must be able to work overtime and may be cross utilized in other functional areas as required

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience with Army or DoD munitions documentation and accountability processes:
  • Ammunition issue, receipt, turn-in, and adjustment transactions
  • Audit support, records retention, and data integrity requirements
  • Understanding the operational, safety, and compliance impacts of improper postings
  • Experience applying regulatory guidance specific to ammunition and explosives, including:
  • DoD and Army ammunition supply policies
  • Explosives safety, compatibility, and storage standards

Responsibilities

  • Perform munition-specific inventory and storage management in SAAS, including lot-, serial-, and condition-code–controlled assets
  • Execute administrative accountability transactions (issues, receipts, turn-ins, adjustments) with strict data accuracy and audit traceability
  • Apply ammunition-specific policies, procedures, and technical guidance to resolve discrepancies and support mission requirements
  • Utilize multiple Army logistics information systems (e.g., SAAS, MHP, MTMS, TAMIS, CORPS, FACTS, VFS) in compliance with established procedures
  • Support explosives safety, physical security, quality control, and data integrity requirements tied to munitions operations
  • May be assigned additional contract support duties in job-related areas such as environmental, safety, and security compliance
