Responsibilities Performs all types of ammunition inspections (Receipt, Turn In, Initial Receipt, Safety in Storage, Periodic, Storage Monitoring). Documents the results of the inspections in the Munitions History Program, determines ammunition condition category code(s) based on inspection. Requests changes to Condition Codes of munitions based on inspection results. Receives and disseminates restriction information for munitions under the direct or indirect supervision of or in assistance of the USG QASAS, IAW DA PAM 742-1. Inspects and records the results of the inspection of Ammunition Supply Point storage facilities, Field Ammunition Supply Point(s), Ammunition Holding Area(s), Forward Area Rearming Point(s), Temporary Ammunition Holding Areas, and ammunition operations at range facilities under the direct or indirect supervision of or in the assistance of the USG QASAS. Provides oversight and mentorship of surveillance employees and ensure safety standards are met. Inspectors are required to meet the training requirements identified in DA Pam 385-64 and AMC-R 350-4 IOT to perform ammunition surveillance operations. Inspectors will maintain certification in AMMO 62 or 37 (refresher), 28,31,45,63,64,68,75,78,97, and 107. Identifies as LEAD, adds administrative duties to the standard labor category. Administrative duties include personnel accountability, timekeeping, drafting and submitting reports, creating a safety culture, and enforcing company/contract requirements and standards. Works environment includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions.
