About The Position

The Supply Clerk 2 is responsible for providing excellent customer service, managing inventory, and ensuring efficient distribution of supplies and equipment within the facility. This role involves locating, picking, and delivering stock, processing returns, maintaining inventory databases, and performing physical inventory tasks. The clerk will also be involved in equipment decontamination, ensuring proper charging for patient billable items, and conducting quality assurance checks on various carts and equipment. Adherence to hospital policies, safety, quality assurance, and infection control standards is paramount. Additionally, the position requires active participation in performance improvement initiatives and completing assigned projects.

Requirements

2 years experience in service/trades with some experience in materials/supply
High School Diploma or equivalent

Locate, pick and deliver stock items and/or equipment to appropriate area
Process item/equipment returns and update inventory database
Participate in routine physical inventory maintenance tasks
Always place stock and equipment in proper location
Perform stock rotation to eliminate expired items
Perform and/or assist in decontamination of equipment duties
Demonstrate a complete understanding of policies and procedures
Demonstrate a complete understanding of software procedures
Insure proper charges have been made regarding patient billable items and equipment
Assemble and inspect all rental equipment as "ready to use"
Deliver supplies to departments, receive signatures verifying delivery and issues receipt to ensure that accurate and reliable supply distribution records are maintained
Ensure catalog numbers are correct and ensuring that products have not reached their expiration dates
Assist in annual inventory of hospital supplies
Receive and store stock, ensures that adequate inventory levels are maintained and notes shortages in order to avoid waste and ensure the conversation of valuable hospital resources
Maintain adequate inventory levels in approved departments by preparing and submitting customized requisitions for supplies and equipment
Verify that ordered supplies are received and disbursed in proper location
Ensure that requisitions are properly filled and that the correct product is delivered to the department
Monitor supply and equipment levels on specially carts within nursing units
Process requisitions when needed
Perform quality assurance checks on crash carts in an effort to ensure proper working conditions
Transport used equipment to the decontamination area for cleaning
Retrieve clean equipment from the equipment room and transports equipment and supplies to and from nursing units in a timely and efficient manner
Monitor patient equipment and supply charges in order to ensure that patients are accurately billed
Observe and adhere to all departmental and hospital policies and procedures and follows all safety, quality assurance and infection control standards
Complete assigned projects
Actively involve in performance improvement initiatives
