About The Position

Stock Clerk 2 is responsible for locating inventory and delivering items to designated locations upon request. This role ensures incoming shipments are accurate, properly received, and stocked in supply rooms. The Stock Clerk 2 conducts inventory counts, identifies replenishment needs for supervisor approval, and reviews order forms, delivery requests, and approval documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely fulfillment. The position requires limited experience and judgment to organize work and achieve objectives, operates under moderate supervision, and typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Requirements

  • 2 years experience in service/trades with some experience in materials/supply
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Locates, picks, and delivers stock items and/or equipment to designated areas
  • Processes returned items and equipment and updates inventory systems accordingly
  • Participates in routine physical inventory maintenance and counts
  • Ensures all stock and equipment are stored in proper locations
  • Rotates stock to prevent expiration of supplies
  • Performs and/or assists with equipment decontamination as required
  • Demonstrates thorough understanding of departmental policies, procedures, and inventory software systems
  • Ensures accurate patient billing for supplies and equipment
  • Assembles and inspects rental equipment to ensure it is ready for use
  • Delivers supplies to departments, obtains delivery verification signatures, and issues receipts to maintain accurate supply records, including verification of catalog numbers and expiration dates
  • Assists with the annual inventory of hospital supplies
  • Receives and stores inventory, maintains appropriate stock levels, and identifies shortages to reduce waste and conserve resources
  • Maintains adequate inventory levels in assigned departments by preparing and submitting customized requisitions
  • Verifies that ordered supplies are received, accurately filled, and delivered to the correct department
  • Monitors supply and equipment levels on designated nursing unit carts and performs quality assurance checks on crash carts
  • Transports used equipment to decontamination areas and delivers clean equipment and supplies to nursing units in a timely manner
  • Monitors patient equipment and supply charges to ensure accurate billing
  • Adheres to all departmental and hospital policies, safety standards, quality assurance, and infection control requirements
  • Completes assigned projects and additional duties as required
  • Actively participates in performance improvement initiatives
