About The Position

Technician, Supply Chain Position Summary Responsible for stocking and maintaining supplies across hospital departments using computer-assisted tools and standard inventory practices to support efficient patient care operations. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department. Additional Information Protected Health Information Accessed: Demographic. Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens may be present. Physical Requirements (typical): Postures/Movements: Frequent bending/stooping, standing, walking, keyboard data entry; occasional climbing, kneeling, sitting, squatting; rare running. Force: Pushing/pulling 0- 25 lbs constantly; 26- 75 lbs frequently; >75 lbs occasionally. Non-patient lifting/carrying 0- 25 lbs constantly; 26- 75 lbs frequently; >75 lbs rarely. Senses: Audible speech and hearing acuity constantly; depth perception constantly; color distinction rarely; near and far vision constantly; smell and taste rarely. Biological/Chemical: Generally rare exposure to biohazardous waste, blood/body fluids, communicable diseases; rare exposure to asbestos/lead, cytotoxic chemicals, dust, hazardous chemicals, gases/vapors/fumes, hazardous medications; latex exposure rare. Requirements

  • Education: High School diploma preferred.
  • Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn and navigate multiple computer systems.
  • Effective English communication (read, write, speak, and understand).
  • Ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Performs periodic cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory; adjusts inventory records as needed.
  • Stocks units with office and medical supplies; prepares requisitions to maintain par levels.
  • Receives shipments, logs receipts, enters data into the inventory system, delivers items to departments or other facilities, and reports/documents errors or damages to management.
  • Answers the telephone, receiving dock, and walk-up window professionally; routes calls/messages appropriately.
  • Completes clerical/computer tasks that support patient care delivery.
  • Processes outgoing mail.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
