BASF/Chemetall, is the Surface Treatment global business unit of BASF’s Coatings division, operating under the Chemetall brand, and a leading supplier of applied surface treatments worldwide. We are looking for a Supply Chain Specialist to join our Supply Chain Team in Jackson, MI. The Supply Chain Specialist will be responsible for supply chain management, planning, and procurement of materials, and products to meet company objectives as well as customer requirements. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior supply chain experience.
  • Team oriented, ability to work with other team members and management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure challenging environment.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to handle numerous projects/assignments at one time.
  • Advance user with Excel and creation of formulas within Excel is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Nice To Haves

  • Production Planning, Purchasing, and SAP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, maintain, and fully utilize MRP to create purchase orders and follow up.
  • Evaluate production demand to provide a commitment to new sales orders and delivery when products are finished.
  • Ability to work and communicate well with all levels of internal management and staff.
  • Handle imports from Germany for high visibility within aerospace.
  • Processing, maintaining, and analyzing data.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce SHE goals and objectives of facility.
  • Communication of sensitive information and feedback to vendors, customer service, and supply chain.
  • Oversee bulk raw material purchasing to ensure timely and efficient supply for production needs.
  • Creation of reports and information packages.
  • Monitor and maintain material master data, open purchase orders, and open stock transfer orders to ensure SAP dates are accurate and updated.
  • May assist with overflow work from other colleagues.
  • Keep detailed records, generate reports, and develop presentations.
  • Oversee stock levels of warehouse inventory for multiple locations.
  • Maintain appropriate purchased inventory flow.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under high pressure situations.
  • Collaborate with others from diverse backgrounds to identify problems and find solutions.
  • Work in other areas of Supply Chain as dictated by workforce demand and Supply Chain Team Leader and Manager.
