About The Position

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Supply Chain Quality Manager to join our Customer Services team based in Herndon, VA. In this role You will be liaising daily with the supplier’s management and production staff, ensuring the alignment of all factors in order to achieve the required delivery (On Time Delivery (OTD) / On Quality Delivery (OQD)) to Airbus Services (FHS, Satair, Upgrade/Retrofit…) & Airlines. This will involve monitoring, analyzing & reporting of the Key Performance Indicators, and organizing the escalation and main actions plan follow-up . The role will also require the need to assess the suppliers’ capability/capacity and to identify potential weakness in the industrial processes such as bottlenecks (pacing process), root causes and/or supply chain issues (including sub-tiers) in order to secure and improve industrial performance. Meet the Team: The Customer Support team provides aircraft operations support throughout the aircraft's operational life. The team coordinates, implements and monitors all services customized to meet the customer’s specific needs, to ensure a positive customer relationship. Our Field Service teams provide technical support so our customers can operate safely and efficiently. Being based at our customers' facilities enables us to have a strong customer relationship and understanding of the airline's technical and operational needs. Your Challenges: Primary Responsibilities:

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Industrial Engineering or similar field or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years professional experience in a procurement operations environment (monitoring, auditing, developing suppliers/operations) or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and expertise of Quality Regulations (part21 and part145), Practical Problem Solving, International Mgmt. system standards, Authorities / Regulations / Standards, Knowledge of QMS, Auditing/Assessing / Risk Management / Continuous Improvement (Lean Six Sigma)
  • Significant experience in supply chain (or procurement operation) and quality processes
  • Good knowledge of customer support (Airline’s operation)
  • Good knowledge of regulation EASA Part 145 and Part 21
  • Travel Required 50% Domestic and International
  • Citizenship Authorized to Work in the US
  • The job content requires the ability to travel via car and airplane.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and view computer monitor for long periods of time.
  • Requires hearing and vision.

Responsibilities

  • Manage supplier quality Approval/Authorization, ensure that suppliers are compliant with certifications required (Part 145, Part 21) in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor supply chain & quality aspects of the contract (Supplier Support Conditions (SSC), Side Letter, standalone), being responsible for On Time, On Quality and on Cost performance.
  • Drive Implementation of best practices and quality management techniques to continuously improve Supply Chain related performances for deliveries of supplied products
  • Identify & Monitor the supplier's industrial risks such as volume increase, long term support, industrial change, ToW, Merger & acquisition, organization changes (etc...) and propose mitigation actions
  • Monitor and analyze performance through Key Performance Indicators and organize the surveillance of the suppliers through audits, assessments, recovery plan and mission, CID (Corrective, Improvement, Development) and industrial risks management with internal and external concerned parties
  • Lead the Operational relationship with the supplier, assess the Supplier capacity, capability & performance and contribute to the Supplier development
  • Initiate and manage supplier recovery or development plan linked to performance & compliance, in coordination with the Supplier Development Manager
  • Ensure Suppliers’ preventive/corrective action plans are managed and achievements are at the expected level in terms of end results.
  • Appropriately monitor major industrial risks, major changes (industrial transfers, major planning changes) and supporting design changes on an industrial point of view in order to protect Airbus operations
  • Prepare and support regular management reviews (PRM, Industrial Senior Management Meeting, Quality Supply Chain Meetings) with suppliers to regularly review delivery and supply chain performances and ensure that preventive/corrective & improvement actions are continuously undertaken.
  • Communicate supplier’s performance and recovery/development plan with our stakeholders and customers (participate to customer’s event)
  • Act as supplier escalation point for all supply chain & quality aspects and maintain close communication and coordination with the operational teams (FHS, Upgrade, Satair), to ensure consistency in our relationship with Supplier, (including Supplier Control Reviews, quarterly reviews, Operational & financial performance reviews etc..)
  • Complete required trainings
  • Special projects and stretch assignments
  • Mentor new hires and support colleagues as needed
  • Manage relationship with internal stakeholders, such as MFT leaders, CSDs and Fleet Efficiency teams as well as Satair teams. This includes communication, customer / supplier relation & meetings, and improvement actions.
