About The Position

As a Supply Chain Process Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of engineers responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining engineered labor standards and process improvements across Distribution Center (DC) operations. This role ensures labor standards are fair, accurate, and consistently applied, while driving operational efficiency, cost reduction, and service level improvements. The Manager oversees time study programs, process optimization initiatives, and capacity planning efforts, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategies. They partner closely with DC Operations and cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities, prioritize initiatives, and deliver scalable, data-driven solutions. This role is responsible for coaching and developing engineering talent, establishing best practices, and ensuring consistent execution across sites. The Manager also plays a key role in strategic planning, network optimization, and change management efforts. Approximately 50% travel is required to DCs. This role is on site, which means you would be required to work on site at the Best Buy location listed on the job posting. (This role can also be located out of one of Best Buy’s Distribution Centers, or corporate headquarters in Richfield, MN).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or any Quantitative Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of external Supply Chain engineering roles involving process improvement, layout optimization, and/or engineered labor standards
  • 1+ years of (formal or informal) leadership experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
  • 6+ years of external Supply Chain engineering roles involving process improvement, layout optimization, and/or engineered labor standards
  • 2+ years of direct or indirect people leadership experience
  • Extensive expertise in engineered labor standards and time study methodologies.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred).
  • Proven track record leading large-scale process improvement or network optimization initiatives.
  • Experience with warehouse automation (conveyors, AS/RS, robotics).
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to build business cases.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop engineering teams by providing direction, coaching, performance management, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Own and govern engineered labor standards, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and proper validation while reviewing time studies and aligning recommendations with labor models and incentive programs
  • Drive strategic and operational execution by translating business objectives into engineering priorities and ensuring successful delivery of key initiatives across the network
  • Support capacity planning and network optimization across labor, equipment, and facilities to enable efficient, scalable distribution center operations
  • Champion continuous improvement through large-scale process enhancements, standard methodologies, and Lean Six Sigma principles to boost throughput, reduce cost, and elevate service levels
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and manage tools, data, and performance, partnering with key stakeholders, ensuring governance of engineering systems, maintaining data integrity, and monitoring KPIs to guide decisions and improve productivity
