About The Position

The Supply Chain Planning Lead reports to and assists the Planning Supervisor, providing cross-coverage in their absence. This role involves representing and communicating for Supply Chain in various cross-departmental collaborations and meetings, including Tier 2, NDP, EPI, and Weekly Schedule Review. The Lead works closely with Demand Planning, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Sales to ensure the timely production of finished goods to meet customer demands. Key responsibilities include leading projects for process and system improvements, serving as a liaison between Planners, Supply Chain Supervisors, and other departments, and analyzing assigned resources to make recommendations for low capacity situations. The position also involves managing and reviewing capacity assumptions, identifying service risks due to capacity constraints, and communicating these risks across the organization. The Lead is expected to oversee, support, and perform responsibilities for all Planner Levels and value streams, including managing excess and short shelf-life ingredients, following up on material availability, monitoring Oracle's Supply Chain Management eBusiness Suite, maintaining accurate planning master data, overseeing PIPO processes, and coordinating T label and P Code communication and execution. Additionally, the role involves preparing and overseeing work orders to ensure maximum efficiency in meeting corporate KPIs related to equipment, staffing, space, and cost, reviewing material needs, monitoring aged inventory levels, and ensuring rework is accounted for.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or working towards a degree AND five years of experience required in production area or knowledge of NOW’s current system OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Intermediate skills in MS office including Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc. required.
  • Oracle experience required.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management and in time-contained situations.
  • Ability to think globally in relation to schedules impacting all departments while fulfilling customer expectations.
  • Understanding of costs related to downtime, labor, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting safety and cGMP goals.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior production scheduling experience preferred.
  • Ideal candidate has prior experience in Operations or RD.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing including 5S and Lean Practices helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Works with Demand Planning, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Sales to ensure timely production of finished goods to meet customer demands.
  • Leads projects for implementation of process and system improvements.
  • Serves as liaison between Planners, Supply Chain Supervisors, and other departments.
  • Analyzes assigned resources and makes recommendations when running low capacity.
  • Manages and reviews capacity assumptions used as inputs.
  • Identifies items and value streams at service risk due to capacity constraints; communicates risks and analysis across leaders in the organization.
  • Able to oversee, support, perform responsibilities, and provide cross-coverage, for all Planner Levels and all value streams.
  • Reviews excess and short shelf-life ingredients to plan ways to avoid write-offs.
  • Follow-up on material availability and expediting of late deliveries.
  • Monitors Oracle's Supply Chain Management eBusiness Suite and Supply Planning module signals to establish proper replenishment and stocking quantities.
  • Monitors and maintains accurate planning master data, BOMs Routings, Item Creations and Discontinuance, and Recipes Creation.
  • Oversees PIPO process with minimal loss.
  • Performing and coordinating T label communication and execution.
  • Performing and coordinating P Code communication and execution.
  • Preparing and overseeing work orders for each production value stream to ensure maximum efficiency in meeting corporate KPIs related to optimal use of equipment, staffing, space, and cost.
  • Reviews materials need and checks availability to support production schedule.
  • Monitors Aged Inventory Levels goals.
  • Ensures rework is accounted for and ingrained in plans to utilize and prevent loss.
  • Supports a culture of safe production and exhibits safe work practices.
  • Actively participates in the safety program by engaging in safety activities.
  • Effectively provides and accepts constructive peer-to-peer feedback on safety performance.
  • Adheres to policies, procedures, SOP’s, safe work practices, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Reports ALL workplace incidents to supervisor immediately.
  • Communicates concerns to supervisor, reports hazards, and provides input on prevention.
  • Properly uses, wears, and stores Personal Protective Equipment when required.
  • Participates in safety teams and/or completes safety-related activities as part of regular job responsibilities.
