About The Position

Bachem’s 10-week Summer Internship Program offers undergraduate and graduate students a hands-on introduction to the pharmaceutical industry. Bachem is a leading, innovation-driven company specializing in the development and manufacture of peptide and oligonucleotide based active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and related products. The program is designed to provide meaningful, real-world experience, allowing interns to apply academic knowledge in a collaborative, research-focused environment while working alongside experienced industry professionals. Participants will contribute to impactful projects, build technical and professional skills, and gain insight into Bachem’s scientific excellence, quality-driven culture, and global operations. Bachem fosters a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture. The program runs for 10 weeks, with Session 1 from May 26 - August 14 (California State University Track) and Session 2 from June 22 – September 11 (UC Track). Interns are responsible for their own housing, travel, and transportation. This specific internship is within the Supply Chain Department, focusing on Planning.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/certificate or equivalent
  • Must be a currently enrolled student at an accredited college or university with an expected graduation date of December 2026 or later
  • Business, Supply Chain Major
  • Minimum GPA 3.0 or higher
  • Able to start on either May 26th or June 22nd
  • Ability to complete the consecutive 10 week internship
  • Must have work authorization in the United States at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Responsibilities

  • Supports demand forecasting, inventory management, and production scheduling to ensure optimal material flow.
  • Key tasks include analyzing supply chain data, tracking KPIs, updating planning systems (like SAP), and collaborating with logistics or procurement teams to reduce waste and meet customer demand.
  • Key outcomes include gaining end-to-end supply chain visibility, collaborating across functions (sales, logistics, manufacturing), and solving operational bottlenecks to improve efficiency.
  • Other projects or responsibilities as may be required.
