About The Position

What Supply Chain Planning contributes to Cardinal Health Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning. Job Summary The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for ensuring the correct Net Requirements are flowing to the manufacturing sites and external manufacturers, so they are scheduling production to the correct mix and quantities driven by the system requirements and enabling procurement of the correct materials to support Service & Repair activities. This role works closely with other functional teams to ensure customer metrics are achieved or exceeded (Service Level, Backorders). Primary responsibility is to ensure the finished goods and spare parts supply is sufficient in the network to avoid supply gaps both near term Sales and Operations Execution (S&OE) and long-term Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) by reviewing plant capacity, working with deployment, reviewing and confirming proper safety stock levels and opportunities for reducing inventory costs. Roles primarily uses the planning and deployment systems of Kinaxis and SAP.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience, preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in related field such as Supply Chain, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Applies comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects
  • May contribute to the development of policies and procedures
  • Works on complex projects of large scope
  • Develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
  • Solutions are innovative and consistent with organization objectives
  • Completes work; independently receives general guidance on new projects
  • Work reviewed for purpose of meeting objectives

Nice To Haves

  • APICS, CPIM, or CSCP preferred
  • SAP or Kinaxis experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Net Requirement Attainment and Compliance to ensure plants are building the correct products. Develop countermeasures when metrics are not meeting targets.
  • Develop and maintain forecast / Supply plan for Global Service & Repair, leveraging RMA trends, commercial strategy, and other business inputs.
  • Conduct deep dives into areas where Service Level or Backorders are below target and develop solutions to drive improvements.
  • Recommend and implement planning and supply chain improvements aimed at improving financial and service level commitments.
  • Drive global reduction excess and obsolete inventory risk and Lead planning and procurement of Last Time Buys to support Global Service & Repair portfolio.
  • Proactively communicate service risk while maintaining strong coordination with other internal stakeholders.
  • Identify Key Capacity Constraints within the portfolio, monitor them and provide advance notice to the business when the load will outpace the capacity.
  • Participate in the execution of Strategic projects and initiatives in support of Supply Planning improvements including system integrations.
  • Work with all levels of Mfg. Plant Leadership, Global Demand Planning, Global Marketing Leaders, and OPEX.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled S&OE/S&OP, Category Operating Unit and Manufacturing Operations reviews.
  • Recommend and implement planning and supply chain improvements aimed at improving financial and service level improvements.
  • Host/attend weekly plant and/or external manufacturer meetings to align on challenges to ensure service level metrics are met or exceeded.
  • Conduct Supply Reviews monthly per the S&OP cycle with plants/external manufacturers.
  • Complete all necessary training as required to ensure compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement with individual development plan.
