Supply Chain / Operations Intern

Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defense industries, is now recruiting for its 2026 Internship Program. Our team is looking for a Supply Chain / Operations Intern to join them. You will report to the site Supply Chain or Operations leadership team and will have an onsite work structure in Creedmoor, NC. Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Foundational understanding of supply chain principles including procurement, planning, inventory management, and logistics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
• Ability to interpret data and translate findings into actionable operational improvements.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn within a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Procurement & Sourcing Support: Assist with supplier communications, RFQs, data analysis, and sourcing initiatives. Support supplier onboarding and help evaluate supplier performance metrics.
• Planning & Inventory Analysis: Work with planning teams to analyze demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory levels. Support initiatives to improve material availability and inventory efficiency.
• Delivery Assurance: Monitor supplier performance and support efforts to improve on-time delivery. Assist in identifying risks within the supply pipeline and collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate disruptions.
• Operational Improvement: Partner with manufacturing, quality, and finance teams to analyze process performance and recommend improvements aligned with cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
• Data & Reporting: Develop reports and dashboards to track KPIs including inventory turns, on-time delivery, lead times, and supplier performance.
• Final Presentation: Prepare and deliver a presentation to site leadership at the conclusion of the internship, summarizing your project work, key findings, and measurable impact.
• Continuous Learning: Gain hands-on exposure to end-to-end supply chain operations within the aerospace industry while developing both technical and professional skills through mentorship and real-world experience.
