Supply Chain Operations Intern

Base Power CompanyAustin, TX

About The Position

Base is America’s next-generation power company. We’re rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization–electricity–by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries that is transforming today’s fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time. Base is building a vertically-integrated residential energy company - hardware, software, and field operations all under one roof. As a Supply Chain Operations Intern, you’ll work directly with the teams standing up Factory 1 and scaling deployments across Texas. This is not a shadowing internship: you’ll own real problems that sit at the intersection of manufacturing, logistics, and software. You’ll help turn manual workflows into repeatable processes, improve how material moves from suppliers → factory → field, and build the tooling and analysis that lets us install batteries faster and more reliably.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Industrial/Systems Engineering, Operations, Business Analytics, Engineering Management, or similar
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with engineering, finance, legal, field operations, and software teams
  • Internship or project experience in operations, manufacturing, product, logistics, or business analytics (hands-on experience preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and collaboration tools (Excel/Google Sheets, Slack, docs, task trackers like Jira/Notion/Confluence)
  • Builder mindset - enjoys ambiguity, takes ownership, and is excited to make things work better, not just analyze them

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with SQL, data analysis, or dashboarding tools (e.g., Tableau/Looker/PowerBI) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support sourcing and purchasing initiatives across key components, improving supply assurance, lead time reliability, cost, and quality
  • Partner closely with engineering and suppliers to hit build schedules while managing total cost of ownership
  • Help design material flow and warehouse processes for Factory 1 and field deployment operations
  • Tune planning parameters (min/max levels, reorder points, safety stock) and improve inventory accuracy and availability
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics with 3PLs and carriers; troubleshoot shipment delays and drive resolution
  • Prepare shipment documentation and ensure compliance with operational and regulatory requirements
  • Analyze operational data and build simple tools, dashboards, or trackers that remove manual work and increase visibility across the supply chain
