Job Summary The Supply Chain Leader is responsible for leading and optimizing supply chain and logistics functions to support operational performance and business growth. This role oversees material procurement, production planning, inventory control, supplier and vendor management, outsourcing, and distribution activities. The Supply Chain Leader partners closely with Operations, Purchasing, Logistics, and external suppliers to create integrated, efficient processes. This role functions as a supply chain generalist across multiple disciplines and serves as a people leader.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Progressive experience in supply chain – 5+ years in a supply chain leadership role
  • Prior people-leadership experience required.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills
  • Experience leading/managing in a supply chain environment.
  • Earn others’ trust and respect through consistent honesty and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Work cooperatively with others without regard to level or status to achieve results.
  • Take personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieve results with little oversight.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional environment.

  • Knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel to plants or suppliers as required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and optimize inventory levels, lead times, and fulfillment rates.
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies that align with business goals.
  • Manage the fully supply chain lifecycle for purchase order entry to final delivery.
  • Use data analytics to anticipate supply needs and prevent bottlenecks.
  • Adjust plans dynamically based on customer trends and business changes.
  • Standardizing processes across departments and geographies
  • Track KPI’s such as stock outs, safety stock, inventory health and DIO/Inventory targets to forecast.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards for executive leadership.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
  • Representing the Purchasing organization in daily operations updates
  • Maintain departmental reports (i.e. open orders, vendor on-time delivery, safety stock, customer experience reporting).
  • Utilize ERP to its full potential to ensure best practices are carried across the purchasing group.
  • Partner with plant supervision to ensure timely delivery of inventory to the line.
  • Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.
  • Minimize freight cost.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of supply chain professionals, fostering accountability and collaboration.
  • Drive talent development through effective hiring, onboarding, goal setting, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Creating a positive team culture focused on engagement, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and reliability across the supply chain.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives such as new product introductions, system enhancements, and process standardization.
  • Partner with Finance, Sales, HR, and other stakeholders to align supply chain strategies with overall business objectives.
