About The Position

This position is a primary point of contact for all customer-related material and parts sourcing needs. Responsible for purchase orders for all sourced components, as well as raw materials. Responsible for maintaining relationships with suppliers. Forecasts demand for purchased components and plastic raw materials. Supervises shipping and receiving operations, as well as internal purchasing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in supply chain or related business field or GED or Highschool Diploma and/or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous Experience in Purchasing and/or Contract Management (2-5 years) in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent Written and Verbal Communications Skills
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organization and communication skills with internal customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in Supply Chain and Customer Service preferred

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes historical sales and usage data to forecast demand for purchased components and raw material
  • Maintains appropriate safety stock of purchased components and raw material to ensure continuity of supply
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate delivery schedules, release status, and quality approval status for purchased components and raw materials
  • Authorizes Purchasing Specialist to issue purchase orders for raw materials
  • Maintains current knowledge of purchasing principles applicable to manufacturing
  • Responsible for sourcing, bidding, quoting, and risk management of purchased components and raw materials
  • Maintains customer-specific regulatory requirements for sourced components and raw materials
  • Responsible for maintaining an open line of communication with all suppliers on pen orders
  • Supervises internal purchasing, shipping, and receiving operations
  • Responsible for team scheduling and timecard approvals
  • Assesses performance of team via regular review
  • Trains and acts as a backup to all Shipping and Receiving operations, as needed.
